We didn't have any big boats fishing for King Mackerel today but we did have one of the captains out fun fishing for Red Drum and he said it was real good fishing, he was checking nice Drum at were in the slot, so he got to keep one for dinner.

Several boats went out today in spite of rain squalls and foggy conditions. Blackfin Tuna fishing was good with a few Yellowfin Tuna caught. King Mackerel rounded out the catch. A gale warning is in effect from Sunday through Monday with gusty N winds turning to the NE and bringing with it a big swell. Come on down and complete your Christmas shopping - we are having a 50% sale on merchandise and gifts (excluding tackle).

Tuna, Tuna, Tuna! Offshore boats had excellent catches of Blackfin Tuna and a few Yellowfin Tuna! The Wahoo bite was scattered. One Blue Marlin was released.

Several of our commercial fisherman are out looking for King Mackerel.

Kings are among the most sought-after gamefish from North Carolina to Texas. Known for their blistering runs they are the distance relative to the Wahoo in speed. Caught mostly by trolling, using live or dead baitfish, spoons, jigs or artificial lures. Commercial gear consists of run-around gill nets, or trolling with large planers, heavy tackle and lures.
