Offshore boats return with catches of Dolphin, Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. Hatteras Fever II released a Sailfish. Fishing along the beach produced good catches of Spanish Mackerel and Albacore and back in the sound keeper Red Drum were caught.

Offshore today weather was some of the prettiest we have seen with cool wind and sunshine. A nip of fall started out the day but quickly warmed up. They returned with catches of Dolphin scattered Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. Hatteras Fever released a Spearfish which we don't see many of and a Sailfish. Godspeed also released a Sailfish. Inshore we were catching Spanish Mackerel, releasing Red Drum and our own marina girls Carol Turner caught a 30lb Cobia and Sandy Fletcher caught a Red Drum and Sheila Ballance released a Red Drum. Godspeed: Glen Fowble of Freeland, MD released a Sailfish.

Hatteras Fever: Lana Frazier of Freedom, NY released a Sailfish. Eric Nero of Freedom, NY released a Spearfish.

Hatteras Blue: From Salem, VA Blackfin Tuna were caught by Harold Wiekle 20lb. Ronald Buckley 21lb. Jeffery Poff 20lb.

A few boats out today weather was cool and windy in the morning and worked it's way up to warm and calmer in the afternoon. Dolphin fishing was good with fair Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. Bottom fishing was bringing up Triggerfish and Amberjack. Inshore boats were catching excellent Spanish Mackerel and releasing large Red Drum.

Tightline: Aaron Aaron of Hatteras, NC released 4 Red Drum.

Good Times: James Rayburn of Warriors Mark, PA caught a 4lb Black Bass. Bradly Cento of Canton, NC caught a 47lb Dolphin.(See Picture Below).

The wind blew NE heavy and steady this morning. Seas were not fishable and all offshore boats stayed at the dock. 

Although windy on the Sound, brave inshore anglers had a good time catching some keeper Puppy Drum along with a few Red Drum Releases!

One boat fished near shore this morning and returned with Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Bluefish, and False Albacore. Inshore anglers released Red Drum again today and filled the box with Bluefish despite windy conditions and rain squalls.

Offshore anglers experienced good catches of Dolphin. Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna were scattered today. Strong SW winds blew up this afternoon and made for an interesting ride back to the dock.

Inshore anglers braved choppy waters this morning to experience good Drum fishing. There were large Red Drum releases (check out the one in the picture below) and some keeper puppy drum as well. It has been a great season for Red Fish in the Pamlico Sound.

Several offshore boats ventured out in windy conditions this morning and spent the day catching Dolphin (both bailers and gaffers). The Wahoo bite continues to  be good and some nice ones were brought back to the dock. The wind fell back this afternoon and this weekend is looking promising for fishing.

Thursday, September 10, 2015

Anglers that fished inshore this morning returned with "keeper" Puppy Drum and some Flounder. No boats fished this afternoon due to strong SW winds and lots of whitecaps in the Pamlico Sound.

Offshore there were several Billfish releases. Dolphin and Wahoo fishing were good today. Anglers reported some rough conditions coming in this afternoon.

Offshore anglers enjoyed a beautiful day out in the deep blue sea, they had good catches of Dolphin and Wahoo with a few Blackfin Tuna mixed in. Hatteras Fever II released a Blue Marlin and White Marlin and Native Son released a Sailfish.

Inshore anglers had a good day as well, they caught Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, King Mackerel, False Albacore along the beach and there were Big drum released in the sounc.

Excellent fishing today with bailer and gaffer size Dolphin. Wahoo fishing went well with most boats catching some. Billfish were snapping today with the make-up charter on Gambler releasing 2 Sailfish. Sea Creature and Hatteras Fever released a Blue Marlin. Native Son and Hatteras Fever released a Sailfish. Inshore boats were releasing Red Drum and dodging rain squalls.

Great fishing on this beautiful Labor Day. Boats were catching excellent Dolphin, fair Wahoo and a few Blackfin Tuna. Release released a Blue Marlin. Inshore boats were releasing Red Drum and catching Spanish Mackerel.
