North wind blowing 25-30kts...all boats stayed at the docks.

Blackfin Tuna: Smallest tuna species. Maximum size, 46lb 39in. Blackfin have oval shaped bodies, black backs with slight yellow on flnlets and yellow on both sides of their bodies. They are only found in western Atlantic from Cape Cod to Brazil. Blackfin feed on shrimp, crabs and small fish. They are a fast growing species that live to about 5 years old, reaching sexual maturity around 2 then spawn in the open sea in the summer. Blackfin tuna are a warm water fish.

Offshore boats had a good day of fishing. They came back with excellent catches of blackfin tuna (citation size) and good catches of dolphin. Wahoo bites were scattered. (1 was 40lbs)

Offshore today early morning weather was nice but turned to thunderstorms in the later afternoon. Anglers were catching good Blackfin Tuna with lots of citation sizes. There was a fair Dolphin bite and a few nice size Wahoo. Inshore a LOT of Red Drum releases 21 on one boat with 3 anglers.

Great weather today with lots of boats out fishing! They had good catches to the North of Yellowfin Tuna. Good catches of Blackfin Tuna and fair Amberjack. There were also a mixed size of Dolphin and a few King Mackerel and Wahoo. Bluefin Tuna were seen but not hooked up. Red Drum were caught and released inshore.

Great warm weather and small seas. There were a few Gaffer size Dolphin as well as fair Blackfin Tuna and Amberjack. There was a scattered Bluefin bite.

Another nice day offshore, one boat caught 18 Blackfins Tuna, 3 gaffer Dolphin, a Wahoo and some Amberjacks. Another one of our boats had a limit of Yellowfin Tuna

HAPPY SPRING ! Today is the 1st day of spring and it was a beautiful here in Hatteras. We're looking for a few people to fill a make up trip at the end of the week. Give us a call at 1-800-676-4939 if you're interested in getting in on some of the tuna action.

Nice day for the boaters as well, they had good catches of Blackfin Tuna, scattered Wahoo and Dolphin fishing to the south east, and a boat fishing farther east had a good catch of Yellowfin Tuna.

Offshore boats faced fog heading out. Turned out to be a nice day. Boats came back with good catches of blackfin tuna (citations), Some wahoo, few king mackerel and few amberjack. Dolphin catches were scattered.

No boats fisher inshore.
